You may know Compton rapper Tyga as a former Cash Money-Young Money signee turned G.O.O.D. Music flagbearer. You may know him as the former boyfriend of Blac Chyna (and the current father of her first child). And you’ll certainly recognize him as the former flame of the youngest Kardashian-Jenner clan sister Kylie Jenner as well.
But what you haven’t come to know the “Rack City” emcee as (yet) is an R&B singer. That has now changed in the most hilarious of ways.
In a selfie video, T-Raw tries on some ‘90s R&B vocals with throwback classic favorites. He croons out Donnell Jones’s smooth 1999 hit “Where I Wanna Be” for the first clip before heading into Usher’s sultry “Nice and Slow.” Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to keep up with Usher’s vocal range for the rendition and hilariously ends the video in a coughing fit.
After fans got an earful of his crooning pipes, which they’ve deemed a noise not fit for sore ears, Tyga turned to Twitter for a joking confirmation of an R&B project.
“Y’all think I’m playing that singing album coming soon,” he said.
Hopefully, he is “just playing” with fans, especially taking into account the amused emoji at the end of his tweet. Keyword: hopefully.
You be the judge of his vocal skills in the video below and see what fans had to say about an R&B album from T-Raw, too.
