TYuS, the Northwestern singing talent stretching his vocals into his own music industry niche, is making this R&B thing look easy in 2017.
Singing and songwriting his way from his Portland hometown and into the forefront of the genre, courtesy of a Warner Bros. roster spot, TYuS has dropped off sensual visuals for “Faye” and they're everything that soul music lovers have been looking for on the millennial R&B scene.
TYuS is purposeful in his gentle use of a xylophone rhythm that brings in the visual to colorful, simplistic shots. As he harmonizes through the lyrics, the viewer is flipped through more wide shots of him and his lover showered in warm hues and silent, but deliberate camera play. The video’s shadowy scenes, glitch effects and slow-motion effects parallel the sensual, soft vibes necessary for any R&B visual.
With the song and video, the Portland artist is already establishing a low-pressure demeanor early on in his career. The urban, trendy ambiance and aura noticeably stand out from TYuS, but his composure is favorably mellow for an R&B singer.
Approaching the video’s last scene, TYuS’s lover struts her way to the outdoor pool and is later joined by the Never Forget crooner after he unwraps from a white designer robe. They wrestle, splash and tussle in all of their quality time glory, allowing the irony of a pool to keep the flame of their love affair burning alive.
