In the wake of the tragic Las Vegas mass shooting, Hollywood's elite have collectively sent their prayers and condolences to the victims. The most bizarre reaction, however, comes courtesy of Mariah Carey, who learned of the attack on live television.

Early Monday morning (Oct. 2), the pop star made an appearance on Good Morning Britain to discuss her upcoming performances in London and Paris but was interrupted by the news of the shocking incident. Appearing through a live feed from her Beverly Hills home, Mariah was seen stretched out across her couch as the British TV presenters asked her about the attack near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Hotel.

No stranger to the world-renowned Vegas strip, having held a residency at Caesar's Palace in recent years, Mariah admitted she didn't know enough about the attack but still offered her condolences. "Something shocking like this happens and no one expected it," Mariah began. "I don't really know what to say."

"I pray for the victims and hope all these can stop as soon as possible," she continued. "You know I have spent a lot of time in Vegas and this type of thing happening anywhere is a huge tragedy."

As previously reported, a lone gunman opened fire into the crowd of Route 91 Harvest Festival, leaving at least 50 dead and over 400 injured.

Take a look at Mariah Carey's full remarks below.
