Jay-Z is getting another well-deserved honor. While the 2018 Grammys nominations have not been announced just yet, it was recently revealed that the Brooklyn rapper will be awarded the Grammy Salute to Industry Icons Award for his remarkable contributions and impact on the music industry.

"We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to honor Jay-Z with this year’s GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Award. His contributions as an industry trailblazer and music visionary only begin to touch on the tremendous impact he’s made both in entertainment and beyond," Neil Portnow, President and CEO of the Recording Academy, said. “Jay-Z also embodies the vibrant spirit of New York City and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting honoree as we return to Manhattan for this year’s GRAMMY Awards."

Music executive Clive Davis echoed Portnow's sentiments, commenting on the rapper’s icon status. "Jay-Z is a quintessential icon and I couldn’t be happier and more excited to share the evening with him,” Davis said.

This is yet another achievement Jay-Z can add to his mantel. The news comes shortly after the artist was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2017, making him the first rapper to ever receive that honor. Jay is also expected to pick up at least one nomination for his 13th studio project, 4:44. The project, which was released in June 2017, just made the period of eligibility for Grammy consideration, which started in Oct. 2016, and ended in Sept. 2017.

Hov will reportedly be presented the Salute to Industry Icon Award at the 2018 Pre-Grammy Gala at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel on Jan. 27, Billboard reports. The gala will be held one day before the 60th annual awards ceremony.
