Contrary to the rumors that were swirling on the web last month, Cardi B and Beyoncé do not have a collaboration on the way. In fact, they never did. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper recently appeared on the red carpet for Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia on Nov. 1 and put the reports to rest once and for all.
Fans began speculating about a possible joint single after a sound engineer by the name of Ashby The Mix Engineer posted a photo of an audio track that appeared to be from Beyoncé and Cardi. But now, Cardi is saying that she has no affiliation to Ashby. "I don't even know where did that rumor... people are crazy," she said. "People start rumors and do things."
Following major backlash, Ashby The Mix Engineer apologized to Beyoncé for sparking the rumor. “I cannot turn back the hands of time so at least this a life lesson I’ve learned on my behalf and all I can do is move forward,” he said in a message on Instagram.
Although the initial reports didn’t turn out to be true, Cardi has hopes for the future. "I wish that [could] happen. I wish. I'll put that into existence.” Check out the rapper’s full comments below.
