While there has been much speculation regarding whether or not Jay will continue to make political statements or unveil performances from surprise guests during his NY stops, one thing's for certain ― no one was expecting this incredible moment between the rap mogul and longtime friend DJ Clark Kent.
On Sunday night (Nov. 26), Hov ascended upon the Barclay's Center to perform before his beloved Brooklyn and shut down the stage with rare renditions of deep cuts like "Imaginary Player" and "I Love Dough." But, by far the most raved-about highlight of the night occurred once the rapper stepped foot off of the stage.
After performing a Rolodex of hits, including staples off of his 13th studio album, 4:44, Jay floated through a sea of fans at the concert's conclusion, greeting and shaking the hands of a select few. The Roc Nation CEO appeared to be in a daze-like state until suddenly he noticed a familiar face in the crowd ― DJ Clark Kent.
In a rare candid moment, Jay leaped into the arms of his childhood friend and shared a heartwarming embrace. The heartfelt exchange was captured by fans and others alike and has since gone viral.
As frequent collaborators, Jay shares a long-ranging history with the iconic DJ, namely with Kent being aptly responsible for the production of Reasonable Doubt. Ahead of his famed career, Kent actually had to convince Jay to step away from his street ties and tap into his gift of creating music.
The super producer openly spoke about his mentoring of Hov in a 2005 interview with Rolling Stone saying, "He was ambitious and he wanted to get better every day. And it's funny how effortlessly it came to him. He's just gifted."
Following the buzz surrounding the video, Kent took to social media to share his thoughts on the epic moment. Take a look at his tweets, below.

We should all greet him as such. He leaned on Hov heavily until he got him off the block...saved his life. And Hip-Hop has been all the better for it. Thank you @DJClarkKent— Shareem Goodlet (@lordsunborn) November 27, 2017
