Hip-Hop Shows Love For Newly-Elected Black Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms
Atlanta elected its second Black female mayor.
Keisha Lance Bottoms has officially been elected mayor of Atlanta, and the hip-hop community couldn’t be any more proud. A number of native ATL artists rallied behind the African-American mayor on social media.
Bottoms is reportedly the second Black female to hold the mayoral position since Shirley Franklin in 2002. While Bottoms was running against Mary Norwood — whom would have been the first white mayor to be elected in 40 years — she had a strong support system in hip-hop artists.
Before and after the election, artists like T.I., Ludacris, Common, Usher and many more voiced their support for Bottoms on social media. See some of their posts below.
