Here's Why Vic Mensa Thinks He Could Play Prince In A Biopic

Vic definitely has some large shoes to fill.

There probably isn’t anyone in this music industry who could measure up to Prince’s exceptional artistry and musicianship, but there is one person who thinks he could at least portray the late icon in a biopic. During a new interview with Montreality, Vic Mensa suggested that he would be up to the task of playing the star on the big screen, and his pitch wasn’t too bad.

According to the Chicago native, he should be able to play the role because Prince is one of his biggest idols. “I think I should play Princpop.” Vic may have ruffled a few feathers with that comment, considering Michael Jackson was notably given that title.

Nevertheless, the “16 Shots” rapper continued to explain why he’d be the perfect fit for the role. “The reason why I'd be able to kill the role as Prince is because I got that mouthpiece. Prince was butter smooth with it and I feel like I could do it,” he added.

We haven’t seen much acting from Vic aside from small scenes in music videos. Even so, he still might be a good prospect for the Prince biopic. As far as the look goes, all he needs to do is swap the dreads for a laid wig and sub the boots out for some chunky heels and he’s more than halfway there.

There isn’t reportedly a biopic in the works at this time, but when the time comes, we’ll most likely see Vic at the front of the casting call line. Check out his full interview below.
