Hip-Hop Has A Change Of Heart After Discovering The Racist Past Of Bullied Middle-Schooler's Family

It's still #F**kBullying, though.

Published December 12th

Well, well, well.

As it turns out, Kimberly Jones, the mother of Keaton Jones, a bullied middle-schooler who went viral in the past few days after sharing his harrowing experience of being harassed in school, has a bullying history of her own. In typical digital-era fashion, the internet dug up photos from Jones’ Facebook account showing young Keaton and, presumably, other family members holding Confederate flags. Problematic posts of Jones harshly condemning those who refused to stand for the American flag in light of protests against racial injustice, deeming them “butt hurt Americans,” also surfaced.

Amid the controversy, the visibility of her Facebook account is now shut down as well as the GoFundMe that raised nearly $60,000 from Keaton’s viral video. Those who previously reached out in support of Keaton are still holding true to their anti-bullying declarations, but are now reminding everyone of another movement that’s equally important: anti-racism.

  1. T.I. admitted that he was also 'somewhat mislead' by the situation, but still held true to his support of young Keaton and other young children suffering from bullies

Ok... So it seems as though we were somewhat mislead by what we saw yesterday in regards to Keaton. Now while I still stand by initial standpoint whole heartedly,I also believe in the laws of karma & reciprocity. I've always heard "What make ya laugh'll make ya cry." I'm thinkin this is a true example of that. But I STILL support Lil dude... even IF he's truly being given a taste of his own meds because when it's all said & done... while his family is spewing hatred around him... he himself will be able to speak from experience how much LOVE was shown to him on the gram by the very ones he's been taught to DISPISE!!! That's how we unlearn racism. THAT DONT MEAN GO DONATE NO MONEY THO!!!! I'm completely against ALL THAT🙅🏽‍♂️!!!!✊🏻✊🏽✊🏾✊🏼✊🏿

  2. Rihanna, on the other hand, removed her previous post about Keaton, and replaced her #antibullying support with a post on two young girls of color who recently committed suicide after being bullied in school
  3. Chris Brown also retracted his post on Keaton, swapping it out with a new one on the sometimes deceitful power of the internet
  4. Cardi B turned to Charlamagne Tha God, however, asking his thoughts on the matter before addressing the controversy further
  5. Lady of rap Khia had more words for all of the parents out there
  6. And comedian Lil Duval, well, he says he saw right through the Jones family all along…
