Well, well, well.
As it turns out, Kimberly Jones, the mother of Keaton Jones, a bullied middle-schooler who went viral in the past few days after sharing his harrowing experience of being harassed in school, has a bullying history of her own. In typical digital-era fashion, the internet dug up photos from Jones’ Facebook account showing young Keaton and, presumably, other family members holding Confederate flags. Problematic posts of Jones harshly condemning those who refused to stand for the American flag in light of protests against racial injustice, deeming them “butt hurt Americans,” also surfaced.
Amid the controversy, the visibility of her Facebook account is now shut down as well as the GoFundMe that raised nearly $60,000 from Keaton’s viral video. Those who previously reached out in support of Keaton are still holding true to their anti-bullying declarations, but are now reminding everyone of another movement that’s equally important: anti-racism.
Ok... So it seems as though we were somewhat mislead by what we saw yesterday in regards to Keaton. Now while I still stand by initial standpoint whole heartedly,I also believe in the laws of karma & reciprocity. I've always heard "What make ya laugh'll make ya cry." I'm thinkin this is a true example of that. But I STILL support Lil dude... even IF he's truly being given a taste of his own meds because when it's all said & done... while his family is spewing hatred around him... he himself will be able to speak from experience how much LOVE was shown to him on the gram by the very ones he's been taught to DISPISE!!! That's how we unlearn racism. THAT DONT MEAN GO DONATE NO MONEY THO!!!! I'm completely against ALL THAT🙅🏽♂️!!!!✊🏻✊🏽✊🏾✊🏼✊🏿
This is a Fu*king SHAME!!!! My msg is still the same no matter who it's going out to. It's simple... HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE!!!! Too bad that kids are just experiencing the BS life has to offer before their little minds can make sense of it all. My heart still goes out to each & every child who's been victimized by cowards who bully them to make themselves feel better about their miserable lives. Stay strong guys!!! This too shall pass!!!! 🙏🏽
Just heartbreaking!!!!! We're losing our babies to bullying!!! Teach your kids love and equality. Teach them about the beauty in uniqueness and how to embrace others' differences! I can't imagine what the families of these 2 young girls are feeling right now! But my heart breaks for you!! #BulliesKill
