Jay-Z Wants To Own The Rights To This Iconic Hip-Hop Symbol
Jay Z is determined to secure the bag all 2018.
From trademarking his animated character "Jaybo" to reportedly planning to open a restaurant, there are no limits to the music mogul's business ventures.
Now it appears as though Hov is gunning to trademark his signature Dynasty sign, TMZ reports. It's not like the rap vet didn't make it a staple in hip-hop or anything.
According to the publication, Jay has applied for a trademark to use the hand sign for a variety of entertainment platforms which include music, video, TV or film.
Interestingly enough, the rapper was sued over the symbol back in 2005 by Diamond Dallas Page. The case, however, was eventually settled out of court and it doesn't appear as though DDP ever trademarked it for himself.
As far as Hov evangelists are concerned, Jay's always owned the Roc symbol. It would simply be legendary if he pulls this off.
