Uh-Oh: Kanye West And Solange Are Under Fire For Allegedly Stealing This Song

The artists are reportedly being sued for copyright infringement.

While both Kanye West and Solange have presumably taken a step back from the limelight, the artists have unfortunately found themselves embroiled in quite a messy lawsuit.

The rapper and singer are reportedly being sued for copyright infringement, TMZ reports. According to the publication, soul artist Prince Phillip Mitchell is claiming that both Ye and Solo have extensively used his ballad "If We Can't Be Lovers" without his approval.

After a quick browse through Yeezy's discography, you'll find that the rapper originally sampled the track on "Everything I Am," off his third studio album Graduation. In turn, Solange then sampled "Everything I Am" for the deep cut "F**k The Industry," which only officially resurfaced following the reissue of 2008's Sol-Angel. In either case, however, Mitchell is credited as a co-writer on both songs.

In spite of this, Mitchell is specifically requesting that Ye and Solo stop performing their respective tracks and pull them from the radio. But, perhaps he isn't fully aware (just yet) that neither song were singles or huge staples in the artists' repertoires.

So, does Mitchell really have a case? Take a listen to each track below and be the judge.
