Jim Jones isn’t having the best week. The Dipset rapper was trying to get a good workout in at LA Fitness, but reportedly experienced bigotry and prejudice from the gym staff instead. Jones shared a video on Instagram on Feb. 6 alleging that LA Fitness employees attempted to kick him out of the gym after racially profiling him.
In the video, Jim is seen explaining what happened while pointing his phone camera at a number of staff members who were sitting behind a desk. According to the rapper, they were trying to kick him out and “terminate” him after he asked for a phone charger. He said he was also accused of throwing up his middle fingers at one of the managers.
“I been a member for 4 years and have never been treated like this…[it is] usually a very good experience well today was [the] worst,” he wrote in the caption of his Insta-video, detailing the situation. “I feel I have been profiled and lied on smh all cause I asked to plug my charger up to th side of one of [their] computers.”
He continued: “I was waving at both of them and [the managers] all saw me waving then proceeds to ask me if I gave her [the] middle finger when he just [watched] me wave [goodbye] to th both of them. Then they threatened to kick me out and get me terminated I asked on [what] grounds they had no answer but [then] she said I gave her [the] middle finger which he saw I didn’t.”
Jones concluded his lengthy summary, by scolding the staff’s customer service and racist behavior. “Moral of story is I did not make u work at la fitness…so the least U could do is be helpful and courteous to all ur customers no matter color race what clothes [they’re] wearing [whether] u like rap or country music,” he added. “It’s the gym we just lifting weights it’s no science class and it’s not Fort Knox it’s the gym a place people go to get in tune wit there mind body n soul wit no interruptions.”
LA Fitness has not responded to Jim Jones’ allegations at this time.
