Please Watch 2 Chainz, YG And Offset’s Mothers Go Off In The Video For ‘PROUD’

Mother knows (and raps) best.

2 Chainz, YG and Offset are taking everybody and their mother to a whole new level—literally.

The Atlanta trap VIP, Migos rap star, and Compton rap spitter dropped an ode to their matriarchal queens on Tuesday (March 27) in the form of a head-bobbing banger titled “PROUD” that could almost be a club-jumping, trap-happy twist to Tupac’s “Dear Mama.”

And what better way to honor the mothers than to have them rock and rap their sons’ braggadocio and bars for the official music video?

Directed by 2 Chainz himself, the mothers lip-sync the words to their respective rap sons’ verses, beginning with the Pretty Girls Like Trap Music’s bars first, followed by YG’s, then Offset’s. Of course, they had to swag the ladies out in only the freshest ensembles for the visual too, as the moms donned their sons’ flashy jewels and designer gear. Offset especially made sure to pass down his Ric Flair drip to his mother while she rocked a chain with his Migos moniker and flipped cash during their scene. Each rapper’s lyrics are specially made in honor of his mom, but two universal themes run throughout the bloodline of the song and the their verses:

“I’m just trying to make my momma proud,” the hook goes. “I’m not trying to let my momma down.”

Like mother, like son.
