Eve Was Drugged At A Party, And Here's What Janet Jackson Did To Help

“I knew immediately something was different.”

Anytime is a good time to meet the Queen of Pop, renowned entertainment megastar Janet Jackson, even if it is at an industry party during a sticky, snot-filled situation like the one Philly-bred femcee Eve had.

The “Love Is Blind” rapper recollected the story with her The Talk co-hosts on Monday’s episode (April 9) where she shared the time that she showed up for an awards show after-party and made the mistake of leaving her drink unattended. About an hour after sipping from the abandoned beverage, Eve recalls feeling “crazy and not drunk.” She knew then, however, that something was terribly wrong.

She alerted a friend whom she attended the party with of her suspicion, only to be met with that individual’s reassurance that she’d probably just had a little too much to drink and told to calm down. This sparked a hysterical crying episode from Eve, who continued insisting that something was wrong.

“And I hear this really soft voice that’s like, ‘It’s OK, it’s OK, I’ll take care of it,’” she remembered of the situation.“And I’m like snot-crying y’all, and I turn around and it’s Janet Jackson.”

Damita Jo began consoling her, Eve said, but she was embarrassed to be meeting Janet for the first-time ever under such awkward conditions. Eve presumably made out of the situation just fine, and as we’d expect, Miss Jackson didn’t judge her.

The silver lining of it all? Unbeknown to Eve at the time, the clumsy incident resulted in a lifetime’s worth of friendship with the Queen of Pop.
