This Threatening Text Message From Offset Is Reportedly At The Center Of A Lawsuit Against Cardi B

But, there's two sides to every story...

Invasion of Privacy femcee Cardi B is floating on cloud nine after the release of her debut album, exciting pregnancy announcement and two fan-faring Coachella performances.

It seems her former manager, Shaft, real name Klenord Raphael, is attempting to poke a hole in that cloud after TMZ reports that he’s pressing her in the court of law for $10 million.

According to the site, Shaft alleges in his claim that he began working with Cardi in 2015 when she reached out for management. At the time, TMZ says of his story, she was looking to make the switch from social media sensation into her rap career.

Not only does he claim that he picked her up as his artist client, but even that her breakout “Bodak Yellow” smash hit is credited to his personal creative team and contacts. Once Cardi began raking in all kinds of deals, including her major label contract and publishing deals, she allegedly shut him out.

Shaft also allegedly blames the mother-to-be of slanderous allegations made to her fiancé and one-third of the Migos rap clique, Offset.

“[U] better stop play acting like u don’t know u taking her sh** from her u a snake,” reported text messages from the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper reads, according to Shaft. “U can’t hide from me N**ga and u not bout to play my WIFE.”

A representative for the former manager allegedly shared with TMZ that Shaft played an “integral role in developing her music career and public image.” He claims to still laud her transition from Instagram to industry, but is “disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career.”

However, Cardi’s team has an entirely different story that would attest to her dropping him from her team. According to another report from TMZ, undisclosed sources revealed that Shaft was pocketing money behind Cardi’s back by reporting reduced amounts of her actual earnings and keeping the difference for himself. As for Offset’s text messages, he became livid when she told him she was paying a 20 percent fee for Shaft’s management services, an unusually pricey portion for a manager, and urged his fiancée to fire him.

Hopefully, all parties can come to a settlement soon, especially given Cardi’s current maternal status.
