The neo-soul icon’s tweet to ‘Ye seemed to stand in agreement with Mr. West’s hotly-debated “free-thinking” position, in which he sung praises to White House occupant Donald Trump and ignited backlash from fans and industry mates alike.
“@kanyewest...see. That’s what u get for using your own brain…” she tweeted to the GOOD Music vanguard. “U know that’s illegal in most states right?”
The sarcasm-ridden tweet was met with polar opposition from fans, who reminded Erykah that the response ‘Ye received had less to do with his freedom of thought, and everything to do with the nature of the person he aligned himself with. In her usual 280-character fashion, she engaged in open-ended conversations with fans who found her tweet to be offensive.
As for the rest of Twitter, they’re scrolling right on past the shade with a few deep sighs and eye rolls:

Y’all are surprised Erykah Badu agree with Kanye? She said she felt sorry for Hilter 😂— Reezy Baby (@aubreyandrobyn_) April 30, 2018
Yes thank you both for being brave enough to sympathize with powerful white men who have caused massive harm to oppressed populations. Really thinking out the box and shirking American indoctrination with that one ☝🏾🙏🏾— DarkSkintDostoyevsky (@daniecal) April 30, 2018
