He has an explanation.

Brooklyn rapper Fabolous and his fiancée, Emily B, appear to be back in each other’s good graces following the highly publicized domestic violence incident in early April.

Amid the controversial case, the couple remained tight-lipped on any details surrounding the situation and took a short break from social media, leaving fans to guess the status of their relationship. A late Mother’s Day post from Fab, however, is confirming that status just one month after the troubling events.

He took to Instagram to celebrate the mother of his children with a message dedicated to her and a note about why his post was so late.

“Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who has given me the best gift I could ever receive, Family,” he wrote in the caption of a collage of photos featuring himself, Em and their two boys. “I love you for life @emilyb_. P.S.- these selfies are courtesy of Emily & I had to wait til she sent them to me so don’t troll me about being a day late, yall know how women are wit their selfies.”

Prior to his Mother’s Day commemoration for the former Love & Hip Hop cast mate, speculation of their reconciliation was already on fans’ radar. A fan spotted the pair together at California’s Coachella festivities in the same month as the incident, and Fab’s recent comment on one of Em’s selfies also hinted that they’d put the situation behind them for now. Recent reports also allege that Emily was side-by-side with the Loso’s Way rapper in their first court appearance for his charges connected to the domestic incident.

No information regarding the developments in the legal case have yet been released.
