Tip even made it home to his family just in time to celebrate his son Major’s 10th birthday, putting the entire incident behind him. The arresting police officers over at Henry County Jail still have some explaining to do, though, now that a video of his arrest at the facility has surfaced. Previous reports held that the Grand Hustle Records leader was being detained on charges of simple assault, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for arguing with a security guard who refused to let him onto his home’s premises when Tip had forgotten his key.
He later permitted him onto the property, sources reported, but Tip returned to the guard and police were called. For some reason, these officers refused to inform Tip of such upon his arrest, and as his American citizen rights allow, he didn’t let up on the officers until they did.
You can also hear the officer responding that he was “acting like a fool,” which by the way isn’t listed as an arrestable offense anywhere in Georgia state law. Tip asks how, considering that he was only asking the security guard a question.
More back-and-forth between Tip and the officer ensues, but he still refuses to inform T.I. of the reason he’s being arrested. Instead, he insists that the Us or Else rapper is only looking for an argument, also adding that he should never have come back to the security shack after the guard let him onto his residency.
“I shouldn’t have came back?” Tip asks with disbelief. “That’s my right as a taxpaying citizen. Why did that constitute for me being arrested?”
He makes a solid point, but it unfortunately doesn’t prompt Tip’s rightfully deserved answer concerning the reason behind his arrest. The officer’s snarky reply is definitely one that should be considered in the court of law, though.
“You’ll answer it in court?” T.I. asks after the officer makes the statement. “Oh, you’ll be answering to a lawyer at that point.”
That he will, Tip.
