One-third of The Breakfast Club trio DJ Envy found himself steeping in the internet’s hot water on Wednesday (May 24) after posting a screenshot of a text message between him and his wife, Gia Casey.
The two jokingly exchanged words over a fake emergency that she pranked Envy with. All seemed to be fun and games until his followers stumbled across his choice of words in his response to Gia.
“Don’t scare me b**ch,” he wrote back.
Envy insists that not only was the word a joke, but him and his wife always josh around like such. Some of his less-bothered fans support that idea, arguing that him and his wife’s dynamic (not to mention how long they’ve been married) allows for such joking around. However, others aren’t so favoring of the verbal horseplay toward Casey, and have resurfaced his Desus & Mero conflict to demonstrate the contradiction.
Probably, but beige folks play by a different set of rules. pic.twitter.com/Yvuvr3Lx2g— George Wilson (@georgewrites83) May 24, 2018
Me and my husband been married for 14 yrs, so I get that type of playing. Some of the things we say would have ppl shaking their head, but NEVER, EVER in public. That's only for us. Envy shouldnt have shared the tweet.— Lady J (@petty_bettii) May 24, 2018
Oh no!!! Not Mr. “You owe my wife an apology” DJ Envy 😱🙄— Meshia (@BaNaNaCoCaInE) May 24, 2018
Ya, but if Gia isn't mad, why are we?? It's their relationship, not ours... 🤷🏽— Sher_Sher_Baby ♌ (@Sher_Sher_Baby) May 24, 2018

They been together for 24 year we don't pay their bills, we wasn't there to recite the vows they made disrespect is in the eye of the beholder.— Adrin T Price (@APTHEBOSS1) May 24, 2018

Lol DJ Envy is weird as hell, he felt like ol boy saying his wife was there for a check was disrespectful, but calling her a bitch isn’t??— Karma a.k.a. Ramona Flowers 💙 (@iAmMissKarma) May 23, 2018
I guess it makes sense if you don’t think about it pic.twitter.com/AwzrpElAwm
Words can hurt and count. Does she call you any bad names? Two wrongs don’t make right. Respect is huge and calling women bitches is soooo obsolete. Get with the times! Queen, Duchess, Leader, Eve-Mother of my Seed, learn them. And, then, Practice.— Scootie Little (@scootie_little) May 24, 2018
A man should never refer to his wife like that— TheRealGideonGami (@the_hustleman) May 24, 2018
