Kanye West's recent support of Donald Trump caused major controversy in the hip-hop community, but it also him on the radar of a slew of right wing conservatives. Florida Senator, Marco Rubio is one of the latest and unexpected republicans to share their two cents on Ye' and his recent album.
The former House of Represenatives speaker shared his thoughts on Yeezy's latest project in a video posted to his official Twitter account.
"I don't know anything about Kanye West’s new album, other than I guess he premiered it out there in Wyoming and invited a bunch of people... He’s an interesting guy. Actually he’s in the middle of that Pusha-T and Drake fight […] That whole thing is so complicated," he said.
Even more confusing, Rubio added, "Bottom line is I haven’t heard [Ye], but I know it’s out there and it’s the first work I think he’s done solo in a couple of years […] So I look forward to hearing it at some point."
The former presidential contender's sudden interest in hip-hop music left social media commenters with tons of questions.
The video was paid for by "Marco Rubio for Senate," but he has four long years until he's up for reelection, so why is he doing this? https://t.co/WqZXFphpQY— eve peyser (@evepeyser) June 15, 2018

Kidnapped children living in squalor at the US Government’s hand and he’s fucking tweeting about Kanye West? Would he even know him if he walked in the room or would he have Secret Service shoot him for being black?— Terrie Hates Trump (@tastipes) June 15, 2018
"One of my heroes I guess would be Kanye. I mean, I don't listen to any of his music, but I really respect that he's making it."— Jason (@JasonDFW) June 15, 2018
