Nicki Minaj went after a writer after she suggested that the rapper change up her lyrics and it’s created a lot of unintended consequences.
Wanna Thompson, a Toronto culture writer, penned a piece, which apparently Nicki read (or saw the tweet) and decided to DM her a pretty nasty message that didn’t have much to do with her critique.
“Eat a d*ck you hatin ass h*e,” she wrote, in-part. “Got the nerve to have a Trini flag on your page. You must not have heard the Pinkprint or ‘Pills N Potion’ ‘Bed of Lies’ ‘Save Me’ My recent feature with Alicia Keys, Tasha Cobbs,” Nicki wrote privately. “Just say you jealous. I’m rich, famous, intelligent, pretty and go! But wait, leave my balls. Tired of you sucking on them.”
The original tweet read, "You know how dope it would be if Nicki put out mature content? No silly shit. Just reflecting on past relationships, being a boss, hardships, etc. She's touching 40 soon, a new direction is needed."
After receiving the nasty DMs, Thompson screenshotted and shared them on Twitter, along with the tweet, “Nicki Minaj exhibited #Queen behaviour when she hopped in my DMs and insulted me numerous times over an innocent music opinion while her fans continue to harass me and DM me death threats. This is NOT okay.”
Nicki Minaj previously responded to claims that her music had become one-sided. During an interview with Elle Magazine she responded to her influence over newer female rappers and even models.
“Maybe I was naïve, but I didn’t realize how many girls were modern-day prostitutes,” she said in the interview. “Whether you’re a stripper, or whether you’re an Instagram girl—these girls are so beautiful and they have so much to offer. But I started finding out that you give them a couple thousand dollars, and you can have sex with them. I was like, Yikes. It’s just sad that they don’t know their worth.”
