You'd be surprised about who makes the cut.

The one thing nobody can deny is how dynamic and indelible Aretha Franklin was. Regretfully passing at the age of 76 on Thursday morning (August 16), this tragic loss had artists from all genres and eras sharing touching memories and their favorite highlights with the Queen of Soul.

Our grieving led us down a rabbit hole of musical flashbacks featuring classics, such as "A Rose Is Still a Rose," "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man," "Chain of Fools," "Rock Steady" and, of course, "Respect." Proclaimed “Detroit’s heartbeat,” Ms. Franklin made history by dominating Billboard charts, winning 18 Grammys and rightfully earning the title of Queen by being one of the best-selling musicians of all time. However, most are unaware of the fact that Aretha fueled the spark behind many of your favorite artists' singles.
