Here's The Heartbreaking Reason Meek Mill And Jay-Z Are Named In Aaron Hernandez's Suicide Note

The late former NFL star shares the details in one of three suicide notes.

The tragic suicide of former NFL player Aaron Hernandez amid his murder-conviction-turned-acquittal left much confusion, agony and devastation among his closest family and friends. Upon the discovery of other things that were left behind—like three suicide notes—Hernandez’s loved ones also learned much more about the 27-year-old than ever before. Namely, how five of hip-hop’s heavyweights pulled him through troubling times before his fateful April 2017 demise.

  • In a new book authored by Hernandez’s attorney, Jose Baez, the contents of the three suicide notes are revealed

Baez titled the book Unnecessary Roughness: Inside the Trial and Final Days of Aaron Hernandez. He includes the letters as excerpts in the book, all addressed to his fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, his daughter, Avielle Jenkins-Hernandez, and Baez himself. His letter to the attorney explains his wish to reach out to some of the artists behind the music that touched him the most and helped him weather the legal storm that would sadly claim his life.

  • 'I need a favor,' Hernandez wrote in the letter…

“If you have any contacts for any artists like [Kevin] Gates, Meek Mill, [Rick] Ross, Jay[-Z], Game…etc. I would like to send you letters so you can send to their information or whichever way you think best.”

The former New England Patriots star didn’t want to reach out publicly in order to keep the media hounds off his back but expressed that he was “trying to just send [his] love to all the artists who got [him] through [his] tough times and sending [his] respect to a few of the real ones out there.”

  • Unfortunately, Baez never got the chance to obtain those contacts before Hernandez’s suicide

Especially considering that he was handed the suicide notes only a few days after the death, CNN reports. In Hernandez’s honor, Baez announced on Tuesday morning (April 21) that all proceeds from Unnecessary Roughness: Inside the Trial and Final Days of Aaron Hernandez will be organized into a college fund for young Avielle. "So that she can know there's a different side to the story of her father," CNN reports of his statement. "He was someone who was loved, cared about, extremely misunderstood, and if some good can come from all of this, I think Aaron would be extremely happy.”
