Man Opens Fire At Ice Cube Concert Over Sold-Out Tickets

A graphic video shows the man being gunned down by police afterward.

Published September 4th

Compton rap icon and hip-hop vet Ice Cube’s concert opened up with a bang (or several, actually) on Saturday (September 1) when Daniel Elizarraras opened fire in front of dozens at San Diego County’s Del Mar Fairgrounds, TMZ reports.

Two videos surrounding the incident have surfaced, showing Elizarraras popping two shots into the air amongst a crowd. Thankfully, TMZ points out, no one was injured, except for the 22-year-old himself when police took him down shortly after.

  1. In the first surfaced video, four shots ring out from police officers, and Elizarraras can be seen falling to the ground

Their returned gunfire followed after Elizarraras shot his in the middle of a crowd and as the final horse race on the nearby Del Mar racetrack was underway. According to TMZ, his sudden outburst was the result of being turned away from the ticket window after he was told Ice Cube’s concert was sold out. Police eventually cleared out the scene as bystanders watched them contain the suspect.

  2. Legal authorities reportedly said he was irate before firing off the weapon, as shown in the second video

Again, no one was injured during the incident. Surprisingly, some of the crowd dispersed upon hearing Elizarraras’ gunfire, as others looked on to see where the noise was coming from.

In the same video, viewers hear four shots before Elizarraras drops to the ground. Fortunately, there are no reports about a fatality, and Elizarraras is reportedly in stable condition. There’s a highly likely chance he’ll be facing serious charges for the outburst preceding the Summer Concert Series though, which TMZ reports brought out 18,000 people.
