Amid the weekend’s explosive New York Fashion Week festivities, the rumor mill somehow tangled up R&B songstresses Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige in its blades with a report claiming that the ladies burst into a nasty catfight during Diddy’s party in The Hamptons.
Despite the absence of any footage, official reports or statements from eye-witnesses of the alleged brawl, the news of a Mary versus Faith throwdown took the Twitterverse by storm. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has now cleared up the hostile weather with an official statement on the matter via Page Six. And according to her reported response, there was, in fact, no hateration or holleration in Diddy’s dancery.
She’d been making her red carpet rounds when reporters asked about the reported brush with Faith. Just as suspected, Mary confirmed that it was simply fake news. “Of course that was made up,” she reportedly told the site. “I was shooting a movie in Louisiana…I just got here today.”
But, we’ll just go ahead and take Mary’s word for it.
