Harley Pasternak, Miller's personal trainer, revealed that he had a standing appointment with the rapper on the day he died. "I was mid-session with someone else expecting him to show up about 45 min later," Pasternak told Page Six.
Recounting the exact moments he found out about Mac's death, Pasternak added, "One of the ladies who works with me walked in with kind of a blank look on her face and held up her phone and there was a news release [about Miller’s death]."
Pasternak and Mac Miller had been working out together for the last year and a half. They were introduced by pop singer Ariana Grande. "She thought that Mac and I would be a good fit for each other and he got hooked [on working out], it took him a bit but when he got into it, he loved it."
Sharing his thoughts on Miller's passing, he added, "This was not planned. He would be mad if he knew he died, he would be so pissed off."
Pasternake, who also played basketball with "Swimming" rapper, took to Instagram paying tribute to Mac Miller.
Mac Miller passed away on September 7. Details surrounding the cause of his death are pending.
