For Monday’s (October 29) Queen Radio segment, Nicki Minaj dropped bombs left and right on the Barbz with shocking details on her NYFW altercation with Cardi B, a message to the Bronx femcee herself, and a special guest who came with two special surprises: Tyga.
The Queen femcee and Compton rapper share quite a bit of history for those unfamiliar. Before Tyga signed off on Kanye West’s GOOD Music roster, he and Nicki were Young Money labelmates. Years later, Tyga would also find himself caught (and somewhat exposed) between a vicious Twitter war with Nicki and her ex-beau, Safaree. Now that the “Taste” rapper has sat down with Nicki on the Apple Music radio segment, it’s safe to say that their past controversies are now water under the bridge. But, Nicki did reveal that before they’d gotten to this point, there was some tension that divided them for years on end.
However, fate is what brought the two of them together. Nicki said that despite their disagreement, they never had an issue with saluting one another when credit was due.
Tyga and Nicki dropped their first collaboration in eight years, “Dip,” on fans as well. Complete with a steamily futuristic visual, the violin-stringing banger features two verses full of classic Nicki bars that the Barbz probably already have memorized by now.
