Regardless, the video just passed a major milestone. On YouTube, “I’m Not Racist” surpassed 100 million views and for the occasion, the emcee himself reflected on the song and visual’s creation.

“I’m not racist just hit 100 million views,” he captioned under an Instagram pic of the video and its accumulated views. “this record changed my life. What’s crazy is i dropped this video against everybody’s will. I was told this record and video would ruin my career if I let it out. im still here.”

Joyner Lucas’ “I’m Not Racist” features a sit down between a Trump supporter and Lucas, in which they delve into the brutal race conversation a lot of people in the country try to stay away from. The rapper’s track serves as voice over for both parties as they hash out their differences.
