Iconic model, cherished mother and industry sweetheart Kim Porter's sudden passing on Thursday (Nov. 15) broke the hearts of many. A slew of condolences poured in from Usher, Rihanna, Missy Elliott, The Game, Mase, Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monae and more after the shocking news of her death spread. Amid those closest to her sharing touching memories of Kim, many fans sent out love and light to her children, Quincy, Christian, D’Lila and Jessie James.
Outside of initial reports and brief statements from a rep from Diddy's camp, sources have stated he's "destroyed over the death of his ex." Now, Quincy's father, famed R&B crooner, Al B Sure!, is the first of the immediate family to make a heartbreaking and public tribute to Kim.
During Al's 2015 Unsung episode, Kim reflected on that loving moment. "I remember they were working on the song and they couldn't come up with the lyrics. I remember Al looked at me and he was like "so you're having my baby..." and naturally, her jaw dropped. Upon their initial meeting, the "Nite and Day" singer-songwriter was in complete awe while she remembered him as being "sweet, genuine, compassionate and that's why [she] fell in love with him."
At this time, no other statements from the respective families have been made. Please continue to send them love and light during this difficult time.
