K. Michelle Has Fighting Words About This SZA Song...
K. Michelle wasn’t a fan of every song from the debut studio album, CTRL, of TDE’s neo-soulstress and lady of song, SZA.
The Grammy-nominated project, with four additional Grammy-nominated tracks, hit platinum status and marked one of the last year and rose to critical acclaim from music publications everywhere. The temptress-stirring “Weekend” track quickly became one of the album’s top standouts, where the free-spirited Solana sings about her sultry weekly schedule with the man of her bedroom—unbeknownst to his actual girlfriend, with whom she shares this man with. But while most fans have double-tapped the track into their music library favorites list, Ms. Kimberly expressed on Twitter that she taps the skip button instead.
‘Every time I hear SZA weekend I get pissed off,’ she wrote, followed by some fighting words...
The Memphis songstress doesn’t care for the adulterous premise of the song. In fact, it’s actually somewhat triggering for her. Though she’s got kudos sent to SZA as an artist, “Weekend” is certainly not one of her favorites.
Apparently, K’s got some support behind those sentiments as well…
