Don’t let Cardi B’s rap stardom, fashion killer, Bronx baddie inclinations fool you. The Invasion of Privacy rapper has been lending her voice to socio-political causes for quite a while now, as she proved to conservative talk show host and Donald Trump sweetheart Tomi Lahren over the weekend. The two women went head-to-head in their 280-character standoff commenced by Lahren (per usual), who landed in Bardi’s mentions after her praiseworthy sentiments regarding the inhumane implications of Trump’s government shutdown. Of course, Bardi came out on top of the Trump-supporting Twitter troll and had time for some of her fellow MAGA-hat wearing tweeters too. But the back-and-forths didn’t last too long after Bardi took to Instagram to address the political critics accompanied by a message about the bigoted Trump-ateers that might send chills up the Bardi Gang’s spines.

According to her post, others have also accused her of voicing her thoughts against Trump for publicity. “B**ch I always been talking bout this type of sh**,” she wrote on the Instagram. The slideshow of posts show several videos of Cardi—some pre-stardom—speaking candidly on a slew of political concerns, including police violence, Trump’s anti-Black statements, taxes, and the NFL’s blackballing of Colin Kaepernick. Back in her regular-degular-shmegular Bronx days, she continued, she always had a passion for addressing these topics, which only grew more as her success began rising.
Unfortunately, however, Cardi understands that while such a passion could make her an advocate, it could subsequently make her a target too
“This always been my passion the bigger I get the more I try to stay away from it tho,” she added. “They know my influence they might Tupac me or come for the ones I love soo I just try to stay silent but sometimes I just can’t help myself!” Since using her platform for those causes, she also pointed out that a few folks out of Trump’s clan have also gotten a bit more aggressive with her too. “I won’t talk much no more I got a lot of MAGA supporters threatening and saying weird sh**,” she concluded.
