Soulja Boy And Drake’s Private DM Conversation Deserves A Round Of Applause

Well, this is a left-fielder…

Soulja Boy may still have some unburied hatchets lingering around the industry, but he’s making nice with arguably one of his biggest adversaries of 2019: Drake.

As was the case for the rest of his Hollywood war flare-ups, Soulja’s tension began on his off-the-rails Breakfast Club interview. According to his sentiments on the world’s most dangerous morning show, Drizzy was simply a byproduct Soulja lent to Young Money. After taking shots at his Pusha T strife and private fatherhood woes, Soulja (along with his threadbare Gucci headband) had a rather neurotic reaction to The Breakfast Club’s mention of the OVO Sound rap star and even sparked a viral “DRAAAKKKEEE?!” meme sensation. A month later and the SOGMG entrepreneur is making nice with the Scorpion artist as evidenced by a screenshot of their private DM conversation. There’s a slim to none chance that Drake would so willingly accept an olive branch from an industry name of Soulja’s caliber in what appeared to be a foundationless rap war declared on his Toronto-bred name. But judging by the now-publicized Instagram conversation, all is forgiven.

  1. ‘You know it’s always been love all jokes aside,’ Drizzy replied to Soulja in the DM

Soulja appears to have initiated the exchange when he tagged Drake in a video that shows him pulling up at his new OVO store. He told Drizzy that he’d wear one of the pieces from his $3,000 OVO store purchase on stage for [DaniLeigh’s] show that evening. Drake sent his blessing to Soulja’s OVO thread picks complete with a message about the former tension. “I dunno if you was serious about the video thing but I never knew you wanted to do a video for we made it you know I would have done that sh**,” Drizzy added, referring to the 2013 “We Made It” collaboration, which grounded the basis of Soulja’s years-long hostility with the Young Money rapper.

And just like that, the Drake versus Big Draco armistice went into effect, and fans have just one question: it’s not too late for the video now, is it?
