The developing details surrounding Empire star Jussie Smollett’s alleged hate crime attack are even murkier as new reports suggest that the salary demand motive Chicago police pinned against him is far less practical.
Thus, some folks may have spoken out a bit too soon against Jussie without having all of the information from the case. But for one-third of the Migos trap trio, Offset, he’s not holding the California-bred singer-actor in contempt either way the case goes.
... after asking about his new Father of 4 album, of course. Currently, Mr. Cephus is busy on his press run for the album but took a few moments to salute the solo albums of his Migos partners Quavo and Takeoff. As for Father of 4 though, it’s “the best thing out” in the hip-hop streets right now, according to him.
As for Jussie, ‘Set has no hard feelings toward him, considering that he’s not the only who’s even been caught up in a sticky situation. “We all mess up, man,” he said. “I don’t really get into all that though. But we all mess up. I’ve messed up a lot of times. It’s all good.”
Offset’s sentiment is considerably contrary to that of his femcee wifey, Cardi B. The Bronx rap star said she was “really disappointed in him” upon news of Jussie’s indictment and even said she felt he “f**ked up Black History Month.” Cardi did point out that she wouldn’t exact any guilt on him just yet until she hears from Jussie himself that he orchestrated a hoax hate crime, however. She also acknowledged the Chicago police department’s history with racism and discrimination, which she realizes could also be trickling down into Jussie’s situation.
Nonetheless, Jussie can at least count on a few people that haven’t immediately bought into CPD’s allegations.
