R. Kelly Revealed The Real Reason He Did Gayle King's CBS Interview

Sources also claim he reacted to the internet’s uproar with just two words...

Amid the mountainous sexual abuse allegations and legal storm swirling around the world of R. Kelly, many were left puzzled about who green-lit his nationally televised CBS interview with Gayle King that flew off the rails within minutes of their conversation.

Some pointed to his defense attorney, Steve Greenberg, while others held his publicist, Darrell Johnson, responsible for the fiasco. But according to TMZ’s sources, it was none other than Kelly himself who insisted on conducting the interview with King — and for a reason that might have you scratching your head.

  • TMZ reports that sources in Kelly’s camp revealed that “he is in constant touch with his ‘spirit’”…

... and thus decided to sit down with King for the CBS This Morning segment. The sources allegedly claimed that he listens to this “spirit” more than anything else and felt obligated to address the controversies for his fans and to clear his name. Kelly probably wasn’t anticipating his hysterical outburst that resulted in a fit of bawling, cursing and shouting at the cameras, though.

  • As for the internet’s reaction to it all…

Where Black Twitter meme’d and mocked away at what they believed to be a melodramatic stage show that Kelly made of the interview, he reportedly gives “zero f**ks.” He was presumably more concerned with getting his points across, which his emotions appear to have gotten in the way of.
