R. Kelly’s Daughter Made An Eyebrow-Raising Statement Amid His Birthday Message For Her
Joann “Buku” Kelly, the eldest daughter of R. Kelly, celebrated her 21st birthday in peace and — from the looks of her response to an Instagrammer — apart from her father.
If you’ll recall, the indicted sexual predator dedicated an Instagram video to the birthday girl on Wednesday (March 20) where he sang the traditional "Happy Birthday" song to her. “Happy birthday, baby,” he said to her in the clip. “Daddy love you. No matter what, I love you so much.” As it appears, Buku didn’t have much to say to Kelly despite the video circulating all over Instagram and Twitter.
And judging by her response to one fan demanding that she “support” him, it seems she doesn’t have much of any “support” to give, either.
The new 21-year-old announced her big day on Instagram
Followed by a comment section of birthday wishes...
... and one fan who apparently believes she should be more supportive of Kelly. "Happy bday," the fan wrote. "Now support the man that [gave] you life." Another commenter replied in defense of Buku with, "God? The creator? Allah?," to which she saluted with one word: "Hellooooooo?????????"
As it stands, she seemingly has not been in contact with Kelly since releasing her January statement on his public controversy. She expressed that she had no interest in speaking to her father and is maintaining her emotional and mental peace in light of his trials and tribulations at hand.
With that said, cheers to a happy birthday for young Buku!
