“I’m not a businessman,” Jay-Z once rapped. “I’m a business, man.” True to his word, Jigga turned his musical empire into a number of profitable business ventures outside of music.

Now, Hov is adding another impressive milestone status to his storied resume: billionaire.

  1. According to Forbes, the Brooklyn native has reportedly accumulated a fortune totalling up to $1 billion spanning real estate, sports, music, and fashion. This makes him “one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire and the first hip-hop artist to do so.”

While some have been quick to bring up that Dr. Dre accomplished the feat first after he sold Beats By Dre to Apple for $3 billion, Forbes estimated his net worth at $770 million in 2018.

  2. Financial experts surveyed his extensive array of entrepreneurial pursuits spanning real estate, sports, fashion, tech and private investments. His portfolio includes an art collection valued at $70 million, $220 million in investments, and a liquor with worth $310 million.
