A$AP Rocky Will Perform In Sweden For The First Time Since His Trial
It’s been two months since A$AP Rocky’s highly publicized ordeal with the Swedish authorities -- and it seems he is set to step foot back in the country where he was incarcerated for one month.
In a statement obtained by Billboard, Live Nation announced that the Harlem-bred rapper will be headlining a benefit concert at the Ericsson Globe located in the city’s capital, Stockholm, on December 11 on behalf of the Swedish Network of Refugee Support Group.
"After an outcry of support from his Swedish fans, he will return to Stockholm to deliver a triumphant show for all his supporters," a Live Nation representative said in the statement.
The show will be Rocky’s first time back in the country since he was released from the Swedish authorities custody after his trial concluded this past August. The 31-year-old found himself embroiled in a whirlwind investigation after him and two of his associates were involved in an incident on June 30 in Stockholm.
Despite Rocky and his crew’s claims that they were acting in self defense, prosecutors determined the three were "not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense" and found guilty of assault.
Instead of sentencing Rocky to jail, prosecutors handed down a conditional sentence. The stipulation means he won’t face jail time so long as he doesn’t commit another offense while on the Slavic country’s soil.
