The Grammys came and went at the Staples Center on Sunday (Jan. 26).
In addition to epic performances from Lil Nas X, Tyler The Creator and others, fans have been getting a second wind from behind-the-scenes moments that have continued to make their way to social media since the show aired on Sunday (Jan. 26).
One hilarious moment with DaBaby (who was nominated for two prizes, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, for his smash hit “Suge”) on the red carpet has the Internet wheezing from laughter.
The North Carolina rapper originally published the video to his official Instagram around Monday (Jan. 27). In the clip, DaBaby makes his rounds with the media where he jokingly shares that he has a back-up plan in mind so he didn’t walk away from the night completely empty-handed. While he ultimately didn’t take home a single award that night, DaBaby’s thoughts deserve an award of their own.
“If I don’t leave with a Grammy, I bet I leave with a n**ga b**ch,” he joked to a cameraman out of shot. He then said the same thing to a Grammy official working the red carpet before he turned his attention to some nearby officers. “You heard what I said officer?” DaBaby posed before he repeated his comment for the police. One officer appeared to laugh while another looked on baffled by the impromptu remarks.

The appearance at the Grammys wasn’t just fun and games for DaBaby. In a separate interview with Billboard, the “BOP” rapper teased that he has new music on the way.
“2019 was playtime. That was the lay-up line. It’s time to ball now,” he said before he playfully joked that he just might leak “a whole album.”
He further revealed that him and Drake recently linked up for an upcoming collaboration. DaBaby said the song is ready to go “whenever Drake ready.”
“We done already chopped it up and we gon’ let it happen naturally,” he concluded.
Given his stellar 2019, it will definitely be interesting to see what DaBaby has cooked up for 2020.
