Previous story (06/22/20): Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris is reportedly facing a second-degree murder in connection to a shooting incident that left one man dead last week.
Following an investigation, Hurricane Chris was arrested Friday morning (June 19) and charged with one count each of second-degree murder and illegal possession of stolen things, according a police report obtained by the Associated Press.
The shooting reportedly took place at a gas station located in Shreveport, Louisiana.
According to the police report, the rapper, born Christopher Dooley Jr., claimed he’d shot the alleged victim in self-defense after exiting the store because he thought he was trying to steal his car.
However, detectives uncovered that the vehicle did not actually belong to him and had been reported stolen by its owner in Texas.
Detectives also claim that video footage of the incident shows that Dooley did not act in self-defense, according to the Associated Press.
The 31-year-old is currently being held without bond at the city jail in Shreveport.
