50 Cent Is Developing Hip-Hop Anthology Series

The first season will spotlight music mogul Jimmy Henchman, who was sentenced to a life behind bars for the murder of a G-Unit affiliate in 2009.

There are few rap beefs as storied as 50 Cent’s notorious decade-long frivalry with The Game. Now the former G-Unit honcho’s fallout will be explored in a new hip-hop anthology series set to air on Starz with the New York rap icon at helm.

  • 50 Cent has been busy expanding his Power universe, with the first of three Power spin-offs, Power Book II: Ghost, recently rolling out, and now it’s just announced that he has inked a deal with the television home of his popular series for more shows. On Monday (September 14), The Wrap reported that the rap mogul inked a deal to develop two new series.

  • Tentatively titled Moment in Time: The Massacre, The Wrap reported that the anthology series “will explore the true stories in which iconic hip hop moments collided with the sensational and sometimes criminal events behind-the-scenes.” The first season will explore his 2005 feud with The Game that spiraled into vicious back-and-forths that famously resulted in a shoot-out at one point. The anthology series will also spotlight music mogul Jimmy Henchman. Henchman, who formerly managed The Game, is currently serviing life behind bars for the murder of a G-Unit affiliate in 2009.

  • In addition, 50 Cent is developing a second, as-of-yet untitled drama series inspired by the true story of sports agency attorney Nicole Lynn, who was the first Black woman to represent a Top 3 NFL Draft pick. The series will follow a Black female sports agent’s rise up the ranks of “the highly-competitive and male-dominated world of sport agents,” per The Wrap.

Both series will be executive-produced by 50 Cent.
