Hip Hop Awards ‘20: 10 Best Looks From The BET Hip Hop Awards

The fashion was fly at last year’s show.

Hip-Hop and fashion go hand-in-hand and have for as long as the genre has existed. At the BET Hip Hop Awards each year, the biggest rappers in the game put on their flyest threads and have fun while awards are being handed out. Most ensembles are eye-poppingly good, but there are a select few from the 2019 show that deserve second looks ahead of this year’s ceremony.

Check out the ten best looks from the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.

B.o.B was the king of paisley print at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. He wore a velvet du-rag that matched the inside of his one-of-a-kind jacket. That spectacular outerwear choice featured paisley print in just about every color that you could think of — grey, red, orange, yellow, green, blown, and blue.

To hear Rapsody spit is to realize that her legendary talent is inspired by multiple generations of highly-skilled women emcees. It just so happens that her 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards ensemble carries an inventive aesthetic that instantly reminds you, upon seeing it, of Missy Elliott. Rapsody’s hairdo and oversized, shiny athletic suit bring back the memories.

The Queen B fashion ensembles have always been the pinnacle of chic whenever she’s photographed at an awards show. That didn’t change with last year’s shining pink ensemble that featured a wavy hairdo, massive earrings, and pink suit dress that made her instantly stand out.

There’s no one hotter — or should I say, icier — than Saweetie. She’s so scorching that her silver, shimmering dress looked like it would burn up after coming in contact with her skin. Accentuating her curves, her dress was the talk of the night and, even a year later, still is.

  • Jack Harlow

How would you describe Jack Harlow’s music? Colorful? Energetic? Inventive? These three adjectives could also be attached to his 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards outfit. Featuring eye-popping combinations of green, blue, white, and orange, along with chained pants made up of countless other pairs of pants, Harlow’s outfit was definitely what was popping.

Lil Kim wasn’t the only emcee that showed the world how to wear pink at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. With a frilly pink dress that made her look like she could fly off into the sky at a moment’s notice, Kash Doll stole the show with her confident look. It mirrored the dominance that she raps about in her music, proving her to be the boss that she always says that she is.

  • Gunna

You can’t talk about the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards without talking about Gunna’s awesome Chanel ensemble. But the fashion truly isn’t what won us over — it was the adorable dog that did. Just look how happy and full of life that Gunna is while holding his pup. If that doesn’t make you smile, seek professional help.

Your screen will probably need some ice on it after seeing DreamDoll’s spectacular, strapped up ensemble. With a sexy dress that left little to the imagination, the rapper showed off her impressive figure with a daring touch. The leopard-print jacket that she wore on her back was just the icing on the cake.

One look at DaBaby’s ensemble will make you want to put the Batman signal in the air. His sleeveless suit looked ridiculous enough, but the hat with it made him appear to be giving the Joker a run for his money as Batman’s most fashionable foe. But together, the outfit works in making you realize that DaBaby is one snazzy dresser.

Not too many can mix streetwear and high fashion as efficiently as Young Dolph. At the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, his ripped jeans and Maison Martin Margiela shirt combination was one of the night’s sharpest looks by far. The smile that he has on in the picture shows that he knows just how good that he looks, too.
