Honors, Shade, BeyHive Wrath and Other Music News This Week

Bee stings everywhere.

A Week of Feelings  - Thanks to Frank Ocean’s release, not only were we left in our feelings, we were also left to read a lot of news revolving around Frank's project. There was a magazine, poems in the magazine, a feature in the project that had people claiming shots were fired. Really, there was only one piece of news that rose above all of that. In the land of beefs, Hot 97 and Drake are still running hot. Others are seemingly waving the white flag, but you never know with rappers. Oh, and word to the wise: we have an etiquette tip for fans who love taking selfies with celebrities. Let’s take a look at that and more this week. – Jon Reyes

Honors Week - Thank the music heavens for VH1’s 2016 Hip-Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens. The special that honored our favorite female rappers kicked the week off super properly — we seriously need one of those every week. It was so good that artists and fans were rumbling about it long after it was over. Also this week, hip-hop is still out there marching and bringing people together and making sure conversations about America’s police brutality and racism are kept alive. All in all, the internet was on overdrive this week with the shade too — we’ll include a former Bad Boy affiliate in that bunch. If you’re taking a break from your Pokemon GO excursions, we appreciate you. Let’s take a look at this week in music news. – Jon Reyes(Photo: BET)

Honors Plus That Flub - Like we said, 2016 Hip-Hop Honors was just... everything. Of course, that Rich Homie Quan lyrical mix up was just one of the many things people couldn’t stop talking about. We felt so bad, we wrote a guide especially for him. We got you, RHQ. Oh, and Teyana Taylor? Thank you.(Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty Images for VH1)

Snub or Nah? - Speaking of VH1 Hip-Hop Honors, Angie Stone felt a way that her former group, the Sequence — a female rap crew signed to Sugar Hill records in the late '70s — weren’t included in the VH1 tribute. Um, we’ll just walk out of the room on this one.(Photo: Photoshot, PacificCoastNews)

Ms. O’Shade - In this week’s edition of “Wait, What?” Aubrey O’Day seems to be “relieved” that she wasn’t included in the Bad Boy reunion tour. Apparently, it resembled a “strip club at 3 a.m.” We’re just going to leave that one alone.(Photos from left: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images, Theo Wargo/Getty Images for VH1)

Summer Games - A wave of Pokemon GO craze has hit the U.S. and it is officially the biggest mobile game in our country’s history — aren’t you proud? Anyway, we looked to our favorite rappers for some Pokemon GO hacks and strategies.(Photo: Drew Angerer/Getty Images)

A Game Way Better Than Pokemon - The Game is out there really making moves. The rapper united 100 Black entertainers, activists and policy makers for a secret meeting regarding the various issues that have been happening in this country as of late. Just... incredible.(Photo: AP Photo/Richard Vogel)

Artists Disagree - In a less cordial forum, David Banner and Lyfe Jennings got into an intense and escalated discussion at a Town Hall meeting in Atlanta. But after all that was resolved, Banner laid it out best, “Men are supposed to have a difference of opinion. (That’s growth.)”(Photos from left: CPA/PacificCoastNews, Bennett Raglin/Getty Images)

The Life of Vindication - Kanye West is having a pretty good week. His beef with Taylor Swift made headlines again, but not because of anything he said or did. Tay-Tay is out there having some other issues with her ex and Twitter hilariously dragged her for it. Kim K is also firing back and making sure homegirl puts some “respek” on her husband’s name.(Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

New Couple Alert? - Page Six is at it again. This time it’s reporting that Nick Cannon might be cozying up with Chilli. We’re still recovering over the idea of Toni Braxton and Birdman being a real couple.(Photos from left: Ethan Miller/Getty Images, Kevin Winter/Getty Images)
