Posted Aug. 6, 2007 - Eddie Murphy hasn't completely shirked his daddy duties to his 4-month old daughter with Mel "Scary Spice' Brown, so he says.
According to a statement released by his rep on Friday, the actor says he "acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy."

This, released a day after Brown and Murphy’s ex-wife Nicole shared lunch together.
The statement continues: "Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort," although Brown told Essence.com that the pregnancy was planned.
Brown's lawyer Gloria Allred says Murphy hasn't forked over a dime of child support to Brown, and told the Associated Press that he hasn't contacted Brown to see the baby. In May, the pop singer, who is seeking sole custody, reportedly tried to reach out to Murphy, but received no response. He hasn't seen Angel Iris since she was born.
