Superstar actor Will Smith played a real-life superhero Friday in his old stomping grounds of Philadelphia.
When the former MC and Philly native heard that 30 computers were stolen from the West Philadelphia High School last month he unfurled his gigantic cash knot and stepped in.
Smith and his wife Jada donated 30 new Apple computers through their foundation, assisted by their friend and long-time business partner Charlie Mack.
The high school was burglarized on February 21, according to investigators. Fifty-eight laptops, two desktop computers and one LED projector– worth between $ 80,000 and $100,000 in total – were taken.
Some equipment was eventually recovered and police arrested two 17-year-old students in the case.
They’ve been charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and related offenses.
