It may sound like a high-tech futuristic dual, but in fact Will.i.am was in St. Louis supporting the F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) championship. Started by Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway, started the F.I.R.S.T. competition to get kids more interested and active in science. Teams build lego robots and then compete against one another.

Will.I.Am helped out a team by manning the remote control for one of the bouts. Some of his teammates noted that his driving helped to block other robots out. Will.i.am. said that this was merely a result of the wifi going out. Either way, his participation helped to show that science, and robot fights, can be cool.
