Nick Cannon Stamps Out Hunger

Join Cannon by donating food on May 14.

Nick Cannon isn't just tackling fatherhood, he's battling hunger with a national campaign -- and you can help.

"We can all help those in need by participating in the national Letter Carriers Food Drive," says the new father of twins with wife Mariah Carey, in a television commercial. "Collect non-perishable food, leave it for your letter carrier and you'll help feed the people in your community that are struggling."

According to the organization Feeding America, one in four African- American households are at risk for hunger, scrambling for their next meal. In addition, ninety percent of African-American children will benefit from food stamps at some point before they reach the age of 20.

Do your part and contribute to the fight against hunger this Saturday. On May 14, leave a bag of non-perishable items, like canned vegetables and soup, rice, pasta, or cereal, beside your mailbox before your regular mail delivery. A National Letter Carrier member will pick up your donations as they deliver your daily mail.

The donated food will go to one of  Feeding America’s 200 food banks around the country, which service more than 10,000 communities. For more information, go to Help Stamp Out Hunger.
