Lenny Kravitz Joins "The Hunger Games"

The rocker will play a stylist in the much-anticipated film.

Lenny Kravitz's acting career appears to be picking up steam. He is joining the cast of The Hunger Games, filling a role fans of the Suzanne Collins trilogy, on which the film is based, are reportedly eager to see filled.


The rocker will star as Cinna, the fashion stylist assigned to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who is preparing to take part in the Hunger Games. His stunning and unique designs play an integral role in her performance in the Games.


"When I saw Lenny's work in Precious, I was just knocked out," director Gary Ross told The Hollywood Reporter. "It was quiet and strong and understated and open-hearted: all qualities which define this character."


For his role in Precious, Kravitz was nominated for an NAACP Image Award and an ensemble SAG Award. His other acting credits include The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and Zoolander. He is set to release his ninth studio album, Black and White America, on Aug 30.
