Awards season is in full-swing, and Viola Davis is racking up the statuettes. The star of The Help, who is truly having a breakout year, will get a chance at a big one with her nomination for a Screen Actor's Guild award for Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor in a Lead Role. Her co-star Octavia Spencer also got a nod for her supporting role in the film, which she calls "the little movie that could," and the entire ensemble was recognized with a nomination for Outstanding Performance By a Cast in a Motion Picture.

"This is all very humbling," Spencer tells the Hollywood Reporter. "We’ve all taken this journey of putting ourselves out there, not being able to pay bills. Life changes on a dime, doesn’t it?"

Laurence Fishburne
was also nominated for Outstanding Performance in a Television Movie, for his portrayal of Thurgood Marshall in the HBO film Thurgood.
