Magic Johnson Sued by His Former Flight Attendant

She claims the ex-NBA superstar turned entrepreneur fired her without cause.

It appears Magic Johnson has completely lost his mystique for one former employee.

TMZ is reporting that a former private jet flight stewardess for Johnson has hit the NBA legend with a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Lanita Thomas
worked for Johnson since 2004 on his jet until she was fired in September 2012. In her suit, Thomas claims the official reason for her dismissal — being 15 minutes late for work — was bogus. The 45-year-old believes the real reason she was let go was because Johnson wanted a “substantially younger woman” to serve him in the air.

In court papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Thomas admits being tardy for work the day in question. She says it was because the entrepreuneur king insists on two types of turkey meat on his sandwiches and she was held up at the deli counter.

Thomas also included other details of her job in the suit including how Johnson demanded that she “regularly squeeze his red vines” liquorice candy to ensure their freshness.

In addition to wrongful termination, Thomas is also claiming that Johnson did not pay her overtime and failed to provide her with legal work breaks during shifts. She is asking for unspecified damages.

Johnson has yet to reply on the matter. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
